Lunenburg Finance Committee fills three seats ahead of a sustained period of fiscal restraint. Beardmore, appearing remotely from vacation, framed the town's situation in pointed terms: "I'm careful not to use the word crisis anymore because I think that crises should be short-lived, I think we're in a long-term situation." Members urged Simeone, described as a ten-plus-year veteran, to speak up more often, noting that unexplained dissenting votes leave the committee without the benefit of his institutional knowledge.

The three appointees were expected to be sworn in before the committee's next scheduled meeting Thursday.
