Lunenburg Conservation Commission Approves Six Wetlands Projects in Three-Hour Meeting

LUNENBURG — May 6, 2026 — Lunenburg Conservation Commission cleared six notices of intent and issued an 11-tree enforcement order at a marathon May 6 meeting that ran past 10 p.m. The commission approved a new single-family home at 30 Pine Grove Road for 60 Cross Street Realty Trust 2012, represented by Chris Anderson of Hannigan Engineering, with conditions requiring grading and seeding be completed by September 1 and a floodplain survey plan be recorded with the order. Engineer Greg Roy of Dillson Roy guided four Benjamin Builders lots in the Lake Shirley subdivision — 4 Palmetto Road, 83 Round Road, 99 Round Road, and 107 Round Road — through simultaneous approvals, with the commission adding a new standard requiring stormwater operation-and-maintenance plans to be recorded with each order of conditions. The commission approved a boathouse reconstruction at 881 Flat Hill Road for Nathan Jones after photographs confirmed a prior structure had existed for more than 65 years, and approved aquatic vegetation management at Marshall Pond — targeting invasive fanwort covering nearly 100 percent of the pond surface — with a condition to preserve native aquatic species. At 715 Reservoir Road, the commission directed the property owner to plant 11 replacement canopy trees, three maples, three pines, three oaks, and two birch, each eight to 10 feet tall, within the 30-foot no-disturb zone within 30 days or face daily fines.
